The last rays of the sun had set into the sky, leaving a sheet of black in it's wake. Everything was drowned in darkness, not even the stars shined tonight.

The forest landscape was silent as it was bathed within the darkness, but it was anything but vacant.

Within the darkness a tall blonde man, dressed was stalking through the thicket of trees, appearing to be on the hunt.

The man was looking for his next meal; and he wanted nothing but the best. Nothing but the sweet sweet taste of fresh warm blood.

In fact the man was not a man at all. He was actually a creature of the night looking for his next human prey; but he didn't want to just drink his victim of choice, he wanted to feel the excitement of the hunt. The sinister delight of seeing the look of terror as his meals tried to escape. To only have them accidently stumble across him; where he would slowly drain his victims, relishing the taste of their blood against his tongue. After all this time of his existence as the undead, he never grew tired it. Loving the power and intoxication he got from his kills.

Tonight would not be an exception; or at least not to a certain degree.

On this night, he was craving the blood of a little maiden.

He smiled as he could feel scent of humans hitting his nostrils; there seemed hundreds, one of them had to be a maiden.

He laughed as he got closer to the scent seeing the forest begin to clear. At the edge of the forest edge, the vampire could see that it came to the edge of a magnificent rose garden. The gothic flowers gave off such sweet scent, mixing in with the scent of human blood the creature could smell.

He shivered at the combining smells. He loved the scent of roses. He looked at the flowers growing in the garden, coming in many different colors; but he loved red roses the best. The color that matched the color of sweet red blood.

He shook his head, his garden was far superior than this one; and he had to focus on why he came here in the first place. He was looking for a meal, not to get distracted by flowers.

He was about to had towards the direction of the strong scent when he heard the sounds of a girl crying.

The vampire gasped before he stealthily hid himself within the flowers.

He cautiously poked his visible eye out to see what appeared to be a young woman running into the garden.

She looked to be about 19 with curly brown hair and a tiny frame encased in a long strapless dusty rose dress that just barely hid her tiny bare feet. Her beautiful hazel green and her rosy face were both wet from tears. The crying girl was even more beautiful then the roses in the garden.

The vampire cocked his as he watched the young woman. Her eyes darted around in confusion for a brief moment before she collapsed within the roses that matched the color of her dress and began weeping.

Her tears sounded like ones of heartbreak. Someone must have broken her heart to make her cry like this; but it wasn't her crying that interest the creature. It was the smell of her blood. The blood of a maiden; but at the same time, he found himself overwhelmed by her innocence and beauty.

He had come for a meal, but he was more hungry for her. Wanting to wrap her in his arms and hold her for all eternity. The minute he rested his eyes on her, he never wanted to let her disappear from his gaze.

But alas he was starving, he hadn't had anything to eat in days, but he didn't want to let this maiden get away. His face lit up when he realized that he could turn her into a creature like him. He could have a small meal from her while gave her his venom to bring her into the world of darkness that he reigned over.

He laughed silently as he silently stalked towards his future lover.

The young brunette continued crying, ignoring that some of the thorns were pinching her shoulder. Her heart had been broken. The man that she loved had left her for another in the most humiliating way; so she escaped to the rose garden to cry alone. Here the roses couldn't hurt her. They were the only ones that could comfort her now.

The young woman took a moment to breathe when she noticed a dark shadow drape above her tiny form.

She let out a cracked gasp as her eyes adjusted to the darkness to see the golden haired man above her. Dressed in a fine black and yellow pinstriped suit protected by a black cape. His bangs were covering his right eye, but his left one commanded power and confidence.

The young woman was in awe of his striking looks, but something about him frightened her. She wanted to run, but was to frightened to move.

The man chuckled softly as he knelt down beside her taking her soft hand into his gloved one for a brief moment before he delicately brought it to his lips and gently kissed it.

Her blood smelled liked the roses, she was the one he wanted.

The young woman trembled at the mere sight of him. He responded by tracing one of his gloved fingers along her cheek.

"It's quite dark out tonight..." The vampire purred. "Why are you out here all alone? Don't you know that their are horrible beasts out here?"

The girl squeaked as she pointed her petite hand towards him. Almost as if she was making point to say that he was one of the monsters he was alluding to.

He laughed as he drew closer.

"What's the matter, little one? Are you frightened?"

She nodded her head.

Her wrapped his arms around her. She looked so tiny in his arms.

"Why are you crying?" He asked in a hushed voice. "Why did you come to the garden to cry?"

The young woman gripped his suit coat for a moment as she breathed to calm down.

"Someone broke my heart..." She whispered, almost silently.

The vampire acted shocked.

"Who would do such a thing to such a little rose?!"

"I thought he loved me... I guess I was wrong..."

The creature hummed to himself, looking down at the young woman.

"A beautiful flower like you would be even more lovely if you smiled." He cooed.

The young woman looked down, flinching when she felt the gloved hand pull her back up.

"Won't you smile for me?" He purred.

The brunette looked into his eyes before she forced a tiny smile on her face.

The vampire smirked a little; accidently exposing his sharp fangs.

The young woman whimpered as she tried to run, but the undead held her in a tight grip. Smiling so sweetly at her.

"Easy little one... Don't be afraid... If I wanted to eat you I would've done so the moment we locked eyes on each other."

"Then what do you want vampire?!" She demanded.

"To talk is all..."

"That's not all you want, creature!" She hissed.

"Such hostility from such a young lady." He cooed.

"Am I right or wrong?"

"And why would I spoil the moment?"

"So you can move in for the kill!" The young woman, whimpered.

"So delicate and yet so feisty." He laughed.

She blushed a deep scarlet.

"What's your name?"

She looked at him.

"Why would I tell you?"

"I already know what your name is, but I would like to hear it roll off your tongue." He happily answered.

"You're kind of insane..."

"What's your point?" He laughed before clearing his throat. "Now your name if you please."

"My name's Mabeline... But everyone calls me Mabel..." She answered. "So if you're asking for mine, what's your name?"

The vampire grinned as he answered.

"Mine is Bill Cipher."

"That's a peculiar name..." She answered carefully.

"I'm quite a peculiar vampire, Shooting Star." He giggled.

Mabel would've laughed if she wasn't so frightened.

"Well if you're a vampire... Why didn't you kill me?" She asked. "Don't vampires drain the blood of humans?"

"Silly girl! Of course I drain my victims." Bill laughed.

"But why haven't you bitten me yet? Are you going to bite me?" Mabel asked.

"My intention was to drain the blood of a maiden tonight; you were about to be that destined girl, but then I saw you crying here in the garden. You looked so lovely yet heartbroken, I couldn't stand the thought of being rid of you after a frenzied feeding." Bill explained.

"What do you mean?" The young woman asked.

"You see... It's been so long since I've had a mate as my own; but you, you my dainty little beauty are the one I've been waiting for. The one I want to bring into the world of darkness that I command."

Mabel didn't know if she should find what he said to be either the most romantic thing she ever heard; or the most disturbing thing she ever heard.

"I... I don't know what to say..." She barely got out.

Bill extended his hand.

"Say you will join me." He purred.

"I... I don't know..."

Bill frowned.

"Why not?" He demanded.

"You're asking me to give up my entire life... My friends... My family... My mortality... You're asking me to turn into a monster that will forever crave fresh blood. I don't know if I can..." She said, quietly.

The vampire stared at her.

"They'll eventually grow and old and die anyway..."

"That's the point... They'll all die while I remain the same..."

"But don't you like the idea of remaining beautiful forever?"

"Well yes but... It's a lot to pay... I would need some time... To think about it..."

"But this is only a one time offer... You must choose tonight..."

"But what if I say no?" Mabel challenged.

"I would have to kill you..."

"But you haven't..."

"Not yet..."

"I don't know..."

"Haven't you always wanted to be with a vampire?"

"I was only being half serious and I was a little girl then..." She sighed.

"But I'm here with you now."

"You can't be trusted."

"Do you wish to leave?" He asked.

Mabel looked back towards the party she was supposed to be at and then back at the vampire that held her.

"No... I want to stay with you... I'm frightened of you... But I want you..."

Bill's grin became slightly more sinister, his fangs hanging outside of his mouth.

"Do you wish to become like me?" He hissed.

Mabel felt tears fall from her eyes. She knew that once she chose, there was no going back.

"Yes..." She whispered. "Make me a creature like you; but do it before I change my mind..."

Bill laughed as he pulled her closer. His hot breath dancing against her pale neck.

"With this bite you will join me... With it's mark it tells you are mine..."

Not wasting anymore time, the vampire plunged his fangs into the young woman's soft neck. She winced in horror and pain, digging her nails into the undead's arms.

Her blood was so sweet, he wanted to relish the taste as he injected his venom in her. Soon they would be the same.

After a few moments, Bill removed his fangs from Mabel's neck. She looked up at him, her skin was now deathly pale and one could see baby fangs begin to take for in her mouth and her eyes seemed to glow in the darkness.

"I feel cold..." She said, weakly.

Bill wrapped his cape around and held her close.

"Your body is adjusting to the venom. Soon you'll feel more alive then you ever were."

They heard footsteps.

"Someone's coming!" Mabel cried.

Bill snapped his fingers before they were standing within the vampire's own rose garden. Only they were the single color of red.

"This is your garden?" The young woman asked.

He laughed as he twirled her around.

"Our garden."

Mabel giggled.

"I like it... But can we add some pink?"

"We'll discuss that later..."

Mabel laughed as she twirled around in her dress, wrapping her arms around her new mate's waist.

"When do I eat...?" She asked, frowning again.

"Tomorrow night..."

Mabel looked down at the ground for a moment. She wasn't sure if she was prepared.

She pulled the vampire down within the flowers before she crawled on top of him, sticking her legs in the air and looking like a lost child.

"Do I have to...? You know...?" She asked in a small voice.

"Yes you do and since you are a newborn vampire, you will be very hungry."

"I don't know if I can... I'm afraid..."

A gloved hand pet her long hair.

"Don't worry, little one..." He purred. "You're instincts will come naturally to you; and once you have a taste of your first kill, you'll love the thrill of the hunt."

Mabel rested her head against his chest. She hoped he was right.

Bill looked towards the horizon. The sun would be rising soon.

"Let's get inside, Shooting Star. The sun will be up soon."

Mabel sighed as she allowed Bill to guide her into his home and leading her to his bedroom. Their were no windows anywhere blocking out any outside light.

The vampire lit some candles before he pulled out a pair of black and gold silk pajama's handing the shirt to Mabel while he put the pants on.

The young woman now vampire giggled as the shirt came all the way day to her thighs.

Bill laughed.

"We'll get you some new clothes tomorrow, but for now..." He crawled into the large bed. "Come to bed, my love..."

Mabel breathed shyly as she innocently crawled under the covers. Once she was comfy, Bill pulled her close to him, playing with her hair for a bit.

"Good night, my prince..." She said, softly.

He leaned in and kissed her softly on the lips.

"Good night, my princess..." He purred.

The two vampires cuddled together as they fell asleep. Resting for a night of the hunt.
